Fuel Pump?

Yes, that's the fuel pump and that's what you need to replace. The top plate, float assembly and stainless lines are something you remove from the old one and put on this part before you put the whole thing in the tank. You have to solder or crimp the wires that you see in that picture to the wires attaching to the top plate.
I'm assuming you've already tried changing the fuel filter and verified the fuel pressure regulator is OK, or you have a situation where one tank makes the truck run well and the other doesn't. Keep in mind kinked lines too. I changed a tank out, truck wouldn't run much above idle, so I changed the pump. Same story and I had a gauge problem. I had the tank in and out several times before I found that every time I had put the tank up I had kinked the line coming out of the pump and seriously limited the amount of fuel volume that it could pump. Just something to think about before you go and drop all that cash for a new pump.

I just finished this job on my truck the picture from mike L is the fuel pump itself.
You have to remove the sending unit and conecting lines from the old pump.
Sending unit uses 2 screws to attach. the connecting lines slide in/out of the holes
on top. my kit came with a plastic wedge with an notch that slipped around one of the connecting lines. a little pressure on the wedge and lines come right out.
You might bend lines if you try to pull straight out.
daajr
BTW my straps were fine but had rust under them that turned into
a leak when I cleaned them up.
