I know there are alot of threads about this but I just want to make sure it's my fuel pump and not something else. O.k, my front tank which I'm not using may have a bad fuel pump. It makes a faint whine when you try to prime it. Is that the fuel pump? The rear primes o.k, but the front just sounds like a moan. I really don't want to spend the money on this if I don't have to, cause I just got my u-joints in the front done and well now I can go wheelin'! ya! I guess I am excited! o.k, but seriously for a second. About this fuel pump. Should I replace the fuel pump and call it a day? What'yall think?
Is it a fuel pump and sending unit together? It's for my front tank, for the rear I'm just going to take the tank off and forget about it. Thinking about copying the Dodge Ram design for mounting shocks to reduce wheel hop. With the tank removed I can do that. If that is the right pump please let me know somebody. Thanks.
when you do the fuel pump, you may want to plan on a tank and straps while you are at it. I recently pulled mine, and the straps were rusted to the tank.

What you are after is called the Fuel Delivery Module FDM (pump and sender in one). I don't know the OEM P/N, but you can see a pic of it at acdelco.com with P/N: MU2005, it's for a 17 gal mid ship tank and cost US$ 220 at rockauto.com. You will also need a new rubber seal and locking ring. As said by others I would also replace the tank straps as they tend to rust into the tank.

Hi,
i have a other question but it would fit to the headline...
What is this for a Problem : The fuel pump does not work, there is no fuel at the fuel filter, the pump has a voltage about 12 V but does not work.
How much fuel should i have in my rear tank to get the fuel lines fill up ?
And has the pump an internal switch ?
And something else, i can hear a "click" from a relay, is this the fuel pump relay ?
I bought the one off ebay and now I'm not sure if it's the right one. Frig I hope it is, can anyone tell me if I bought the right item?
Looks like I bought the plastic sending unit. My front tank is the problematic peice and so far when you try to run it, it doesn't prime at all. Barely a whine out of her. What do you guys think, did I buy the right item? (It's the one with the plastic case with two wires sticking out of the bottom)
HI moose94
i can take a picture from my fuel pump include the sending unit, too.I have not installed a new tank yet.
So let me know if i should do this...
O.k do it please. I will compare if I have the right part. I think I do because I went on Napa's site and it listed it as the fuel pump and sending unit. The rest is just the piping and a small pump right? Well I would like it if you did send a pic to me of w/e you are going to do. Thanks.
Looks like all I've got is the sending unit. If your truck is hard to start and the idle is lopey and you barely have any acceleration at all and it barely whines at startup, does that mean that its the sending unit?
