call dyers up they make a kit for the 351w 708-496-8100
they are really helpfull..they also have a website I cannot remember the url right
this second it might be dyers. com??
but as with all bigger blower kits it costs some cash to get everything
set up and going....
I had a B@m 144 power charger (144 roots type blower) on a mustang with a nos
kit (using it to cool intake charge w/50hp jets)
I was able to massage 12# of boost from it but I had issues with the teflon
strips coming off the rotors at that boost level.
it was o.k. at 10#.....but nothing compares to the torque,h.p. etc
from a 6-71 huffer hanging out of the hood.....
little tip if you ever do get one,it is way cheaper to buy your main drive belt
through an industrial supply company than from any speed shop...
summit, jegs wanted right at $100.00 for my type.....I got one locally for $39.95
also I would advise buying the s.a.design book from summit called street super charging...a ton of technical tid bits....
I built my motor, got it running...then bought that book. It gives you alot of information to help along with decided on which parts, how to do it, get it running, tuning.
A rich/lean meter is the best piece to get. Helps get it dialed in, if you are having issues. Mine has been pretty care free since day one. It gets cantankerous on occasions but hey, it's a hot rod.
i want a big monster engine stickin out of my hood that will make people look twice when they see me drive by.
That can work, but I've known a few guys running large blowers that aren't setup properly and get blown away by healthy naturally asperated cars.
You could always do the mad max thing, fab up a gutted 8-71 to stick out of the hood. Run a gear drive for the noise, and install a small electric motor to run the snout on the blower. That would be a total poser thing to do, but it would "look" cool.
Why stop there? Get a gutted 14-71 blower and use THAT as your hood. Get about 12 different carbs o there, all different sizes and stuff, and have it shoot flames into the air! ROKK! Just make sure you put it on a Del sol first...
