Firefox is great!!
Been running it since before it was Firefox. ( Thunderbird )

Its faster, more configurable, and damnit! The best thing about it is that it AINT Internet Explorer

Built in pop-up blockers and security features make it the browser of choice.

Im currently using 0.9.3 with Debian Linux. (Linux rocks! )

B.T.W. Does anyone else here run Linux?

You have to pay for Mozilla?

Why bash IE? I've been using it forever and have never gotten hacked, virused, or anyother crap. Maybe im lucky or I really know what to open and what not to. Now Netscape browser really sucks, IMO, its slow for me. But, heck, to all his own.

93Green, Mozilla is free, so is Firefox. -Read his ENTIRE post again.

You must be extremely lucky, IE is full of so many security loopholes and has so many adware, spyware and virus hacks as well as the propensity to display pop-ups and pop-unders it has many people ready for something else. Firefox and Mozilla never have any pop-ups etc. There have been a few security holes but most of them are due to flaws in Windows itself.

Netscape has been bad ever since Steve Case got his hands on it and tried to AOL-ize it. The underlying code was put in the public domain and that has grown to be Mozilla, Firefox, Thunderbird, etc. You can find out more on: http://www.mozilla.org

I have replaced IE etc on several computers with Firefox which is much nicer to use.

W-XP will probably be my last MS OS. I will swap over to LINUX when I can find the drivers and software support for my system and needs.

Hello Fellow Fordies ! I have used the Internet (almost from day one) and never had security issues with any browser... until I started using IE. That's when I started getting viruses, worms, trojans, hi-jackers, and all sorts of crapolla on a regular basis.... Yes, I used firewalls and virus scanners, and spyware detectors etc.. but a lot of the crapware still got through.. to the point where I was reformatting & reloading all the time... Since I found out about Firefox and started using it, I am free of all that nonsense. I'm not bashing MS, but IE seems to have a lot of loopholes where the nasties can crawl in...I will never use it again.

Not that IE is SO full of loopholes, but that it is the target de-jour....
most hackers get the most effect because it has the most users....

once the hackers decide they want to invest the time in Firefox...
we have that to consider as well....
