amp meter
My amp meter in my 92 aerostar bounces back and forth when sitting there ideling. When I give it a little gas it stops or when I am driving it is fine but as soon as I take my foot off the gas and start braking it starts doing it again.
What can this be?

Sounds almost like a loose or warn fan belt that is slipping. Check that out first. Check the tension arm. How old is the belt. Also your idle may be too low causeing the needle to bounce back & forth when idling.

I think this is normal. My '93 and '88 Aerostars do this if the heater and headlights are on when idling. The pulley un the crank is smaller than on other cars and at idle the alternater dosnt spin fast enough. Unless its causing problems or tou sit at idle alot then dont worry.
