Hello,
I got code 12 for my airbag (low battery voltage). I also pulled the codes off my ecm and i got (low voltage to tps), code 121, and 122.
I bought a new tps from ford and was wondering if i even needed it. My truck jerks at start like its not getting and gas, and sometimes it dies right down on highway speeds like i let off the gas. Could all this be that i need a new alternator or battery? I would rather much return the tps to ford if i dont need it, thanks
You can check the throttle position sensor by unplugging it, and hooking an ohmmeter up to the leads. Set the r scale to one which gives the most movement of the meter needle. When you push the throttle, the needle on the meter should swing smoothly. The tps is a potientiometer (variable resistor), much like the volume control on older radios. They can wear out.
