valve rotators,

77 f150 351m, can you put normal retainers in place of exhaust rotators, bought edelbrock spring kit , don't know if mine are rotators or not, intake retainers are solid 1 pc. the exhaust are 2 pc not solid,is that a rotator?? the new kit is all retainers(solid),the springs are almost equal, not shorter for rotators.

Your new springs should have come with a spring height #. Also, aren't your valves multi-groove? If so, valves will still rotate.

installed height is 1.82 in. & 1.68 ex .with rotators, stock, new kit is 1.82 installed height in. & ex. with retainers, no exhaust rotators, seems like it would still bind on the ex. side

If you have multi-groove valve locks, they don't grip the valve stem, you'll notice when you install them there is no gap at the lock sides, which leaves the valve stem free to rotate in the locks. Single groove locks & valves grip the valve stem and have a gap at the sides.
