You may also want to look at a web site www.gofastforless.com There are instructions for converting to a Ford DSII dizzy and a GM HEI Module. I did this conversion to my '86 300 and I could not be happier. You don't have to mess with a DSII harness and no ballast resistor to install. It's a good deal and not any more difficult than a DSII conversion.
i went to a junkyard and found the harness and dizzy. then went to parts store and got a module. if you use the tfi coil you dont have to use a ballast resistor and its more powerful too.
You're lucky - In Indiana they are crushing everything up to '95's and finding DSII parts in a yard is next to impossible. Any more, we are forced to buy a Junker/parts truck to get any used parts.
We have a very few yards that you can get older parts; but, the trucks are pretty well picked over now. Most left are just stripped frames and rusty cabs.
ds2 was used on my trucks, 70's to mid 80's. you can get the harness and module from any truck that has ds2 but you need to find a truck with your engine to get the dizzy.

Before I embark on my scrounge, how much of what harness do I get? Just the part from the module to the distributor? Or, all the way back to the ignition switch?
When making up the harness connection to the distributor (dizzy) be sure to include quick disconnects on the wires aternating from male to female so they can not be hooked up backward at a later date. You will be glad you did if you have to pull the distributor in the future.
