Chip/Tuner Question for 95 351 speed/dens
I have 95 351 speed density and automatic. I have 8 inches of lift with 37 inch tires. I am switching to 4.56 gears in a couple of weeks. I have 100 thousand plus miles and would like a little more power as anyone would. I do not want to put alot into this motor with that many miles. What could I expect from a chip? Is the tuner the same thing? I assume they are safe for my aging tranny and engine? I am really am new to this chip stuff. Thanks

I can chip it with a 5 setting SCT chip.
Bascially, you're looking at 4 power settings, plus stock, plus a kill switch setting.
You're looking at roughly 8-10 HP gain, but keep in mind those huge tires are robbing a lot of the power.
Here's my recommendation for tunes:
1. 87 octane tune
2. Premium fuel tune, max performance
3. Premium fuel tune, towing (if you tow)
4. Premium fuel tune for mileage (different tranny parameters)
