I have the Weiand 8010 intake, edel 1406 carb and a 1" spacer. It's not the stud, I haven't put a longer one on yet. If I don't put the lid on the cleaner I can close the hood, it will be real close taking out the spacer.

I have seen some "in-hose" type heated air flapper valves but I don't know if any that I have seen were large enuf for that diesel filter housing intake hose. It will probably take another adventure thru the scrapyard to find the right one. Bring a tape measure and take notes.
Maybe some big trucks may have what you are looking for. The stock single snorkel is a bit restrictive. That is why I am using a dual snorkel setup on my rebuild.
