Cold Air Intake

I would like to install a cold air intake in my 2011 Ford Ranger. What brand should I go for? Volant or K&N?

Our Rangers come with a cold air intake factory installed.

Ditto what Pawpaw said. Most of the "cold air intakes" that are on the market actually remove the factory cold air intake and replace it with an air filter that sucks in hot under-hood air. And people actually buy them. Go figure...

It's your money, but you probably won't see any difference in mileage or performance with a cold air intake install. And a lot of the filters that come with some kits actually let in dirt that has a larger micron size.
But it's your money.

I've always been a fan of Volant because some of their intakes come with a box that allow you to bring in cool air from outside the engine compartment. Do they actually increase HP? Couldn't tell ya.
