front windshield defrost
got a 91 aerostar that has a very weak blower for the front windshield. it seems not to output very much heat to the windshield to clear it off. what could be wrong and what are the fixes?

I'm not sure this will be the answer to your problem but here goes. Look under the hood on the side of the a/c housing. There should be a vacuum motor attatched to the side or near by. The motor looks like a small canister with a vacuum hose on one end and a lever on the other end. Check the hose leading to this motor for cracks. On my '94 the hose is hard plastic with a U shaped bend near the motor. It was cracked in the bend. I only found it by moving the hose around a bit. Check this out and post back with your results. Cajun has you off to a good start, however, it would be helpful to know if you have adequate ventilation output when you place the front selector on VENT and HEAT with the fan on medium and high. Low output at either setting could be either vacuum related or the blower motor has gone bad. Either case is easily repaired.
