I need to replace the flexible "rag" joint in my steering shaft.
I bought a replacement from the "HELP" section at Autozone, and the disk looks like it will fit, but the hardware that came with it is different from my truck.
I was able to remove the disk with the lower half of the joint still on it. There are two studs that hold the disk onto the metal part, but they seem to be swaged rather than threaded.
What's the right way to do this?
What's the easiest way? Could I grind/drill the existing studs out and replace them with bolts?
