What's the best way to replace a rag joint?
First of all, before I get scolded, I tried to do a search but the word "rag" is too short to search on.
I just bought one of the cheap rebuild kits (not the entire assembly) that has the rubber disk, new studs, etc.
Once I get started I might see I need the whole thing but this was too cheap to pass up. I figured I'd try this first.
What's the best way to get down in there to the parts and what steps should I take to disassemble / reassemble it?
Thanks

I replaced mine just recently And I could just reach in there to remove the bolts I do have long arms though , although i had to grind off a couple factory rivited studs. Just make sure that the hardware you have matches what you already have in there I had to buy two "help" kits to have all the right parts for mine. Make sure you mark everything before taking it out, I also learnd this one the hard way
Good luck,
Joey

Use a sixteen? point socket in the clamping bolt, and remember to remove it before trying to pull the joint assembly of the splined input shaft to the box. I had to pull the steering wheel and pull the shaft out a little to get the joint assembly out.
