We recently lost one of our keys to the '99 and had to cough up the $85 or so dollars to have a new one cut and programmed.
The fella at the shop told my wife that we could do it ourselves as long as we had two programmed keys.
Can anyone here outline the process for me? I am creating a complete set of spare keys (PO Box, house, trucks, etc.) as being without one set is a bit inconvenient.
I did a search on this forum but could not find anything. Also, I realize that I could go and ask the local dealership, but like the fact that the folks on here have so much knowledge about these things (plus I like seeing it in print - I find it easier).
If you have your owners manual it tells you in there. I read it in mine. It seems simple, it's just a series of turnning the ignition on and off. Do you have your owners manual?
I must be asleep at the wheel here .... thanks Jefferys, why I didn't think to check the manual I don't know ..... I have the owners manual and I will read up on it tomorrow (it is almost midnight here).
What's next if you followed the instructions 'exactly' in the manual to reprogram a key....and still nothing happens??? Does anybody have any suggestions??

I guess I can always apologize for my ignorance, but I doubt nothing will ever improve some people's genuine rudeness........sorry if I bothered your obvious superiority.

Thank you 02 crew.
It's nice to see some professionalism in here and see some one in here actually try to help some one out without the sarcasim and the constant threat of people who suffer from LDS.
It's amazing how Alfa-Tuff you can be behind a key board.
