When I got my truck it only had one key. I ordered a new OEM key on ebay but it has to be cut and programmed. Since I only have the one programmed key, I see that I have to have the other one programmed by the dealer.
I know I can call the dealer to find out the cost, but was wondering if anyone on here knew about what they charged to program one key?
Also, I was wondering if a locksmith could program the key for me. Thanks for any help.

 

I've heard some dealers charging around $85 per key. Some less...some more.

 

Some locksmiths have the capability to program the keys.
I had a duplicate made at the dealer for my 2000 a few years ago. They charged $105.00

 

i had 2 keys programmed at a ford dealer for 60.00

 

it's about 1/2 hour labor at most Dealerships....most I've paid to date is $45-50
