trans problem
i have a 91 explorer 2wd when it is cold it stays in 1st gear.but when it is warm somtimes it will shift fine when i drive it and stop it does not go all the way into first gear but sometimes it does but kicks right out of first.i change the fluid and filter.DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT CAUSES THIS OR I CAN FIX IT

trans problem
The A4LD is the only Explorer trans that is not computer controlled . It uses a vacuum diaphram ( Modulator ) Its possible yours is having a vacuum problem or the modulator itself is failing . Its a simple repair if thats the problem . Im not a transmission specialists . Best advice is have a tech that deals with transmissions all the time have a look and make a diagnosis .
