speedometer-problem
My '94 Explorer has a funky speedometer. Once I hit 45-55 mph the needle starts bouncing. I can hear a whirring sound like a fly wheel spinning away. This problem only happens at high rates of speed. Has anybody encountered similar problems? What's the problem? How can I fix it? Thanks for your help.

If your speedometer is driven by a cable, I would lube it and see if that helps. Sometimes the cable gets sticky. The noise you hear is probably the cable rubbing against the sleeve that it's in.
