Edelbrock and Holley both make really good FI systems but they are expensive, at least for me. Contact them with your plans and I'm sure they can help you. Good luck.

...can build a custom fuel injection system, all you have to do is supply them with an aluminum intake to weld up... cost me about $3200 and it works great! The best part is that you have total control, via a laptop computer, of the fuel maps, and other settings. The installation requires a larger fuel supply line, 3/8" or bigger, and then setting up a return line for the tank; you can use the existing 5/16" line for that, but you have to put in an attachment to get the fuel back into the tank. if you have a dual tank setup this requirs a little more plumbing and a different tank supply switch to make sure you're returing fuel to the tank you're getting it from...Holley and Edlbrock don't make a bolt on systems for Multipoint or true Fuel Injection (MPFI) for BB fords, only throttle body injection (TBI) for a BB ford, Edlebrock does have a manifold/setup for the SB/Windsors engine family.

Best part about mine is how it performes in the mountains....75 MPH haulling a camper and toys up Vail pass (12k')...

Let me know if you want more information in my installation...

I went the throttlebody route. Holley projection 4DI. Haven't actually fired up yet, but can't wait.

I seem to remember that Edelbrock is now taking custom orders for a multi-port setup like they currently produce for Chevys. Can't hurt to give them a call and check.

hows your gas mileage when driving around not towing? I'm thinking about going with the holly commander system. i rarely tow anything.

Didn't know that Edlebrock was taking custom orders now; when I first started researching,( 2000) their recomendation was to buy the BB chevy setup and then get the manifold built by a third party... but if they can accomidate your needs I might rethink Momar....

Bass, Red

Well, my gas milage wasn't all that great, however, the 351M (100kmi) and initial 460 setup (stock iron intake and a holly 750) were getting about 7.5 mpg each, towing or not. But neither would do the east bound climb up Vail pass at more than about 45 mph, the 351 was running in 1st and at about 25 mph. The bennifit was running at 65 mph up that same streach of highway, and was still getting about 8.2 mpg, towing.

Around town, if I babied it, I could get high as 9.6 mpg, but couldn't seem to break into double digits. The Cam may have had a significant affect here though; I went with the machineists recomendation on the Comp Cams 268H, after asking him for a good "RV" cam. With the EFI it ran good, and would eat up the mountain passes, so I figured that it was a wash, I didn't gain much in MPG but I did gain in MPH and performance.

I'm now working on a replacement engine ( see this post for more details https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=264763 ) that will have a custom ground cam, ported heads, and about 9.2 static compression. The porter says I should make between 350-390 RWHP at 5280' ( Denver ) with a red-line around 4700rpm AND be able to get double digit mileage, so I'm looking forward to that. The best numbers I got with the 268H were 257 RWHP and 348ft-lbs... but It looks like I had a persistant air leak that was allowing the intake to pull oiled air in from the lifter vally, so those numbers may have been better had that been fixed.

Red,

If you can wait, I should have the new engine in and running hopefull by the end of Sept., and should be able to get it on the dyno shortly after that...

If you decide to go with Momar, I would check with Scott at reincarnation-automotive.com and get the heads ported to help get everything setup to make the most out of your engine. Not sure if that's in your budget or not... but it was way cheaper, including the cam, springs, retainer, locks, new S/S valves, than a set of bare A460 aluminum heads from TrickFlow, and it it still smog leagel, in CO anyway. I left off the EGR and Evap systems because they're no longer a pass fail item here. Scott recomended using a performer dual plane, I have a torkerII single plane that may get swapped out, to get the most low-end torque out of the setup. The Performer comes in both the EGR and Non-EGR versions so if you have to pass a Cali emmisions test you should be able to maintain the EGR.
