I've been tossing around the idea of putting fuel injection on a 460. What would be required? I know I would probally have to go with an aftermarket cpu, like an Accel DFI or would a stock truck wiring harness and cpu work? What kind of intake would fit on a 460? anybody have pictures of a 460 with an EFI setup?
Kind of off topic, but what kind of fuel mileage does a well built 460 get?
I have recently found out that trucks (f-250, f-350, and vans) after 1993 have a fuel injection system on the 460's. I do not know if it is multi-port or the other type of injection (the name escapes me at the moment). Anybody know what kind of injection is on these vehicles?
Newer non-California emissions 460s are multi-port injection with OBD-I computer controls. Don't know about the 'California' models.
Try a search in this forum for EFI conversion info. I seem to remember reading that the inake ports don't match up exactly between EFI and carb intakes/heads.
96-97 calif were OBD2 mass-air sequential port fuel injection and by far the most desirable. They had tighter fuel control and got beter fuel milage also you can make preformance changes and the computer will adapt to the changes beter than earlier non mass-systems systems.
