2000 Excursion OD light blinking. Codes 443, 135, 155, 743, 750, 755, and 1747. Replaced the Solenoid pack in transmission and TPS. Any other suggestions. Truck will not shift using OD. Seemed to be stuck in high gear. Also engine performance in down.
We have cleared the codes several times and they keep returning with the service engine light. The problem is that the codes are present when the vehicle is stationary and the majority of them are transmission codes, which should result when vehicle is in motion. Some of the codes, indicate the solenoids are stuck, but this cannot be because we just replaced the entire unit. I have a ping sound near the right passenger wheel and also a hum. We just replaced the the vehicle speed sensor today and the TMIL. The vehicle is stuck in high gear therefore it will not shift in Overdrive. It was shift in 1st gear (but it is really 2nd gear) and then to Overdrive. At times can get up to 60-70 miles per hour, but when stop does not want to pull in Overdrive. Can it be the torque converter or is it the transmission. I am at my whit's end.
The transmission codes are electrical, not stuck solenoids. This means that you have a problem with the wiring to the solenoids, not bad solenoids. You have codes for open and short circuits on both shift solenoids and the lockup solenoid. I'd look for a damaged wiring harness.
Casey,
The truck is at the trans shop since this morning. They have determined it is an electrical problem, but have not been able to narrow down the problem yet. They will send it to their parent shop tomorrow to see if they can narrow down the problem. I am glad it is not the trans or torque converter.
this may sound odd, I had the same issue and it turned out to be the ABS sensor mounted on top of the rear differential. 1 Screw and it comes out, the part was about $20 at Ford. Give that a shot if you haven't already
Is anyone familiar with high current fuse #19. It is listed in the Owner's Guide as "Gasoline Only - W40D/HEGO". Well, we had checked the fuses several times and it seems that we had never noticed that this fuse was blown. It is a 20A fuse. My brother was reading the under the dash fuses #19, which is a 10A fuse that covers "Instrument Cluster, GEM Module, Overdrive Cancel Switch, PATS/PATS Transiever, Idle Validation Switch (Diesel Only) and instead pulled the high current fuse under the hood. The O/D light immediately stopped blinking. He told me to try to shift and the vehicle moved forward light nothing had ever been wrong with it. It was like "Divine Intervention" because we had replaced everything including the Gear Sensor and were considering the PCM as the next replacement. I drove the truck from Chicago to Detroit and it road like the "lion" that it is. No problem. Shifting is a little weird because of the new solenoids. My brother had it up to 100 mph at one time. Ford does not tell you exactly what Fuse #19 under the hood stand for or does. Can anyone tell me what the acronymns stands for and it is amazing that a little fuse can cause such havoc in shutting down a vehicle to the point that it simulates the transmission not working properly and transmits so many codes to the PCM. Even the transmission shop could not tell me what was wrong and they had it for two days.
To make a long story short, I spend almost $1000 when all it took was a $5 multipack of fuses. What a lesson to learn.
Thanks to everyone for your advice.
