I know this should be in the exhaust section, but this pertains to the 97-03 f150. I have an 02 f150 supercab xlt 2wd. I just got this truck and am trying to figure out what I want to do with the exhaust. I thought about Flowmaster 40 single in/dual out, but I don't have the money yet. I was looking and I don't see how dual exhaust would fit anyway. I have the towing package and it doesn't look like there is enough room. I'm mainly going for sound so would just replacing the stock muffler with a flowmaster be enough? Any other suggestions would be most appreciated.
I replaced the muffler, but I went with Borla. There are pics in my gallery. Borla is quite at idle and at highway speed, but it has a really raspy, deep sound when you step on it. It cost me $130 at a local muffler shop for the muffler, small piece of pipe and the stainless tip. With a flowmaster, it would have been $100.
HI fellas,
i have a heritage 4.2, and thought that putting a flowmster (40s series) would give it that deep sound i like, it didnt, its almost to race car for me now, kinda like the local hondas. but i did just put the turn down on and not the full pipe, try it and you might like it.
I am also looking for a new sound as I need to replace my muffler and pipes soon. I am looking for a deep throaty sound. Is it possible to obtain stock pipes to run straight from the muffler to the rear bumper of my truck. I don't like the look of the pipe exiting at the rear of my tire. I have a 99 F150 4.2L What do you suggest for pipes and a muffler?
