Sorry if this has been talked about before, I did a search but eveybody knows how that is (1 to 15 of 500) and my computer is slow.
I have a np435 in my bronco it has the 351m I'm thinking about swaping in a C-6 but I was told that this would take some power from my engine is this true? should I swap or keep the np435?
FYI I'm starting to use my Bronco alot more for the trails and I think the C-6 would be beter, I hardly ever tow.
No noticeable power. I've driven them with both & can't tell. I think the c6 would be better too. However, it will be a lot of work to change over. I'd look for a complete donor vehicle.
keep in mind that in swapping to the C6 you will lose that granny gear in the NP435. If you wont be doing any tricky manuvering where low gearing is crucial, then it wont be that big of deal. Plus that's what 4 low is for right!!
I have a 78 Bronco for the donor I'll just have to get a adapter for the np205, has any one ever done this will I need to put the collum in my Bronco or can I put a shifter on the floor?
Yes, you could put the shifter on the floor if you had the proper shifter for the job - it would take a little bit more work than I would like to do, but hey. You'll need the cover from the automatic transmission and figure out where you need to punch a hole in it and whatnot. You see quite of a few those on 73-79 trucks that guys have done, so look at some of those, im sure there are plenty in the gallery.
