351m to np435

in my 79 right now there is a 82 300I-6 with a NP435(i think). what is needed to put a 351m onto that tranny?i believe the 351 is paired with a c4 as it is out of a thunderbird.

You need a truck bellhousing for the 351m or 400. Those shouldn't be super rare if you find a jy with those year vehicles.

Why swap the dog poop 351m in place of a 300? The power output is about the same. If your 300 is worn out, you'd be better off rebuilding it a adding a couple performance pieces to it.

Perches & motor mount, flywheel, clutch assembly, bell housing. That should be he major parts. Random nuts & bolt then the exhaust.

I have a set of perches out in the barn that I pulled from my 78 Bronco when I sold it.

hard to find parts for and it is also out of a van, giving it a weird intake and air cleaner. are they comparable to the 351 for power? a 300 would look nice to dress up but hard to find parts for a 82.

also im pretty sure the truck had a 351 stock so wouldnt i just use the stock motor mounts on the truck? and i couldnt use the clutch i have?

I would take the 300 and update it to 90s fuel injection along with the free flow FI exhaust manifolds before even thinking of swapping in a dog turd 351M/400.

Hard to find parts for? Where are you located that it's hard to find parts for a 300??? I've never had any issue getting parts for any 300. And if you are having a hard time finding parts for an 82 what makes you think it will be easier to find them for an even older engine?

The van and the truck intake on the 300 should be the same. If you don't like the offset air cleaner they are easy to change. Hell I'll sell you the stock air cleaner off my 78 F150 300!

But if you are dead set on the swap don't forget about the block spacer plate too.
