so what is this CAN-bus??
Here's the story as of late July from AutoTap. I e-mailed B&B Electronics shortly after I got my 6.0 PSD. AutoTap guestimated they should have a free download for existing FORD A.T. customers near the end of the year.
I previously purchased the Enhanced Ford version, it worked very well on my 2001 Ranger and other FORDS. It's a great tool to have. I would definitely get the enhanced option if you plan on buying one. Hopefully the CAN version works as well as the OBDII version they manufactured. The enhanced version will give you detailed info on many sensors, you can also customize your screen and add and configure gauges on the computer as desired. From what I've read, the CAN format should be faster than OBDII and communicate with the transmission, FICM and other control modules. I've not seen any other scan tool that you can do this with unless you are a Ford technician with all the good software tools. I would love to have a copy of the Ford software and hardware. Can you buy it anywhere?

It does not display exhaust back pressure, the high pressure engine oil for ICP; engine oil temperature; transmission oil temperature; and many other items. It displays EGR error but always displays 0% for EGR command.
My E-MAIL communications with Autoxray has not been very promising with respect to additional data from the 6.0 PS.
It does show lots of data and has a nice capture feature; unfortunately, it is missing data I am currently interested in; EBP.
One thing I have observed is that with the EGR unplugged the PCM can not complete an OBD II Trip.
I had "1" in the "Continuous DTC Counter" prior to unplugging the EGR and this count increased to "4" over a few days; yet, I could not display any trouble codes or pending trouble codes.
Parameters listed on my 04: prior to unplugging EGR, and cold start................................
Readiness Monitors Complete Yes
Load Value 58% (this is idle!)
Coolant Temp 95° F
MAP Sensor 29.00 in.hg
Engine RPM 655.00 RPM
Vehicle Speed 0.00 MPH
Intake Air Temp 87.00 °F
Air Flow Rate 4.17 lb/min (drops w/ EGR)
OBD II Require OBD & OBD II
Power Take Off Not Active
Time Since Engine Start 98.00 S
Distance since MIL active 0.00 miles
Commanded EGR 0.00 % (always)
EGR error 0.00 %
Fuel Level Input 32.10 %
Warmups since codes cleared 58.00
Distance since codescleared 1658.00 m
Barometric Pressure 28.60 "Hg

Brake Depressed doesn't indicate change
Four Wheel Low
Park Neutral
Trans Control Switch

A/C Pressure Sensor
Field Octane Not Requested
Canister Purge Not Requested
Low Speed Fan
High Speed Fan
Malfunction Light
OBDII Trip Completed
A/C Clutch Engaged
Trans Control Light
Secondary Air Pump
Coast Clutch Solenoid
Baro Pressure 28.98 "hg (two baro sensors?)
Engine Speed 652.00 RPM (twice displayed)
MAF Sensor 1.44 Volts
Num Completed OBD IITrips 72
Num Comp OBDII DriveCycles 0.00
Continuous DTC Counter 1.0
Intake Air Temp 88.00 °F
Throttle Pos Mod e Closed (this isn't EGR throttle)
There is also Readiness Test Results for 12 tests of which four are supported: MIL Status; Misfire Monitor; Comprehensive Component; EGR System
There is a transmission side as well; however, many of the engine parameters are displayed there and it is missing the transmission fluid temperature which I would like to see.

im so smart....haha
any idea why two different baro sensor values, I thought one might actually be the EBP sensor but when I unplugged same neither of the two baro values (which don't ever match) changed.
My thought on two engine RPM values is that one may be desired RPM as I have seen this on another scan tool with GM product.
