1988 Bronco Hubs

I have a 1988 bronco with manual hubs. They are real beat up and i need to replace them. They are the flange style hubs and nobody makes any. Ford doesn't carry them anymore and the only ones i've seen were OEM from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard. Are there any hubs anywhere else?

there is a conversion kit that will allow you to replace them with warn premium hubs but it is a little pricey

Where is the kit? I don't mind if its pricey as long as i can run the reliable warn hub.

I think warn does make some flange mount lockouts. If you want to convert it to standard type lockouts you must change the knuckles, outer axle shafts, rotor and hub assembles, spindles, and bearings.

Just talked to Warn customer service. They have nothing that will work. The closest thing they had was $1200 and was not guranteed to work. So how much would be the estimate cost for the parts at a junkyard to do the swap. I know of three local wrecked broncos that could possibly be donors.

I have the same setup as you. ive found it to be easier to swap from the knuckles out . just go to a wrecking yard a pull them off of a new year. I also have an extra set of the stock ones with rotors if your interested?

Kem is right. I called a buddy of mine that works at Warn and he said they don't make the flange style for your year. Check alot of salvage yards. You never know what you are going to get.

It is no different than any other 4x4, just 2 ball joint nuts need to be loosened and a tierod nut. And of course the brakes and hub assembley what not needs to come loose. Simple job with just common tools, except the large nut inside of the hub for the bearing. You will need to buy a special socket.

Yeah but those flange mount hubs were OEM Warn made and from all of the people I know that have done the conversion, they regretted it seeing as how the flange hubs have a far less tendency to break and keep water out better.
