Question broken hubs

I just bought a 1988 bronco and the manual locking hubs dont engage. Do i have to search for new ones or is there something that breaks on most 88 manual hubs?

I'd try the bearings inside of the spindle that the outer shaft runs on. a lot of times they will go bad and wipe out the hubs..

Since you have the hubs apart replacing those parts...as Bremen said, check the bearings. Replace if needed or at least re-pack em. As for the hub parts, you chould be able to get em at your local parts store.
