IAT sensor location on 5.0L engine?

Hey guys,

I have a 1989 Lincoln Town Car that needs the IAT sensor replaced. I tried looking for it but I couldn't find it. The manual said it was in the air filter box but I couldn't find it anywhere. Can you guys give me an idea on where this is actually at? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Braxton

I think you'll find it in the intake manifold, between the injectors for cylinders 5 and 6. Should have a yellow wire and a black wire (if it follows Ford wiring colors).

^^^ what he said.

The ones in the intake tend to get coated with deposits due to EGR, etc. So they eventually moved them to the air box. Don't know the cutoff years, but if it isn't in the air box, it should be on the lower intake manifold.
