Difference between 86' and 93'?
I found a good used 302 out of an 86 Bronco and I was thinking of purchasing it for my 93 f-150. What are the differences between the two? Will it work pretty easily? I noticed that the 86 did not have a serpentine belt, is that a problem? I think that I should be able to use the pulleys off of my existing motor. Any help is greatly appreciated. There is not much life left in my existing engine so I would like to get a replacement lined up.

The longblock should be pretty well the same. No major changes in the 5.0 over the years, although the compression MIGHT be a little different as might the cam grind (although I'm not SURE of either). It should work fine though, but I'd transfer EVERYTHING except the longblock from your existing engine(provided it works OK). If you get the engine and everything appears to hook up and fit OK, use it. If not, swap it from the original motor. Remember that the sepentine setups use a reverse rotation water pump, so swap that, the belt, accessories, brackets etc over. Not sure, but the front cover may also need changing for that pump.
