Good day.
I have yet another 2 questions.
1. The keyless entry pad on the dor of my explorer doesn't light up anymore. how can I correct this.
2. My aribags are gone. How can I get rid of the "Airbag warning amber light" that lights on the dashboard? What do I need to do to make that bulb light no more? (Without replacing the airbag and sensors)
Your problem connsits of removing the dashboard panel section to get to the bulb behing the indicator you mentioned. this is difficult at best. The side door mounted keyless pad light is also a bulb problem that might be checked starting with the fuse box. Question for you? I have a 2000 explr 2wd xlt with a minor vibration problem when cold and then somtimes I hear it when driving. Its a low moning sound that last for seconds. My mechanic could not find anything and ford could not either after replacing Idle fuel injector and reprogramming the engine computer!Fuel injectors have also been cleaned, What do you think? JHNNNY
There's probably a problem with your airbag system so that's why your indicator light is on. You should take it to the dealer so they can hook it up to a computer and check what the problem really is. As for your keypad, you can't just change the bulb. You need to change the whole assembly. IMO, it's not worth the fix b/c I've heard that the keypad is really really difficult to get to.
Jhunny, check the MAF sensor. It's probably dirty.
It seems I would need to replace the whole keypad assembly huh? Sounds expensive. Anyway. As for JHNNY: In my experience, if you can feel the rattle on the steering wheel, meaning the fluid is cold to flow normally (since this is a "morning" problem). As soon as the fluid gets its proper temperature, the rattle goes away.
