89 ford 7.3fuel problem??
Ok this is wierd the rear tank rusted out about a year ago, I bought and replaced tank and fuel pump everything .It ran fine went cross country and while coming back every time i switched to rear tank the engine got quiet and lost power.
Still ran but no power ....switch back to front tank and varoom off you go...i am stumped any ideas??

The rear tank that you replaced the original with ... was it a brand new tank or was it a replacement tank from a parts truck? If a replacement tank, you may have picked up sediment and it is stuck in the switching valve or in the pickup tube. There is my nickel, hope it helps.

nope it was brand new ...but i am going to pull the switch and blow it out and see what happens it is getting fuel but i guess not enuff really wierd..when i switch tanks the engine gets real quiet and smooth..but still runs but at about 70% power ...go figure.thanks
