Can anyone here tell me what the booster fuel pump pressure for '88 or '93 F250 with 7.3 liter Navistar diesel should be. A dealer service man said around 55 psi. Can any one confirm this?
One of the booster pumps pulses the fuel pressure from 0 to 5 psi. Each time the pump plunger takes another stroke the pressure drops all the way to zero. the other pump builds up to 6 psi and maintains that pressure.
Appreciate assistance soon as possible on this?

Reason: for clarity
booster pump ???? If you are talking about the transfer pump mounted on the engine block on the passenger side front, it should be about 7 psi to the filter head. Beyond that I am at a loss for booster pumps.
Yes I do mean the transfer pump mounted on the side of the block. On most diesels it is refered as a booster pump.
I suspect it may be the cause of hard starting given the above mentioned problem but not sure. I've checked compression, and repaired starter as it was cranking a bit slow. I'm not sure if the shut off solenoid in the injector pump may be hanging up when it energizes if that is possible.
