Long-time lurker; first-time post. Great site! I have a '64 short wide, with no headliner. I see two different ones in catalogs (2 or 4 piece) How do I know which one is right?
My 1964 has the 4 piece originally. It is my understanding that difference is early 64 or late 64. You should be able to use either. I would guess that you could see if there are existing screw holes in the "border" area of the 2 piece or existing holes in the "border" area for the 4 piece to determine which your truck had originally.
Mine was pretty beat up. I found a good one in a f-150, must have been about a '66. It was about 6" too short in the back, & had a different fit near the windshield/vent window. If I cannot find one in a junkyard for the '62, I'll have to order a 2 piece from Dennis Carpenter for about $150, + shipping via a freight Co., as it is too bulky for UPS, etc. Art J.
Speaking of headroom and roof changes, have any of you guys ever seen a pickup with the bigger F-600 or so, style 'raised' roof panel on it?
Like the ones in this link >>http://www.michellesfords.com/N_Series_Page.html
Every time I see one of those I wonder how that would have looked on a pickup.
I went to that site earlier today and was thinking the same thing.
I think they might'a looked kind of top heavy, but I bet the F250 and F350 would have looked OK with their bigger wheels to balance the look out some.
