Hi, new here. I've had my V10 about a month now, and want to start upgrading the performance. I put in a FRAM AirHog filter right after I bought it, and it had a cat-back dual exhaust kit on it already. Now I am looking into a tuner. I have seen many different ones, all claiming different things. Which ones seem to be the best for hp/trq gains, and do any help/hurt mileage. Thanks.
Superchips microtuner is the best out there right now.....The diablo predator will be out soon for the V10. I am waiting for the diable.....far superior to the superchip Microtuner. As far as HP/TRQ, there are 3 settings on the SCMT. 87 octane (ther are no performance gains, just firmer tranny shifts) A 91-93 towing (moderate HP gains...around 3-5%) and 91-93 octane high performance ( 5-7% HP gains) The shift pressures are adjustable through the tuner. As far as MPG......maybe 5-7%....keeping is mine if you drive like a granny.........If you like to use the added power......way less MPG and running premium fuel (you have to to avoid detonation....very bad) it can get costly.....my area 93 runs $2.05.
In my opinion you should avoid the hypertech. I had a ping problem with mine. The main reason I bought the tuner was for the trouble code reader and speedo fix and neither are available for the V10 hypertech. The firmer shifts were nice and I did notice some extra power. I lucked out and sold it on Ebay, for the same price I bought it for on Ebay.

I have heard several people agree with you on the Hypertech. They advertise performance gains while running regular, but it seems like those who have tried it get alot of pinging with 87 octane.
I am a newbie to the V-10, coming over from the 6.0 deisel truck to a V-10 motorhome. On the diesel side, the swear by the tuners, and most report major power increases.
