Haunted Dome Light

I have a '99 F250 4x4 V-10 which at about 55K miles started having the door open dash light, beeper go off and turn on the dome light. It will go on, then turn itself off and them go on and so on. Usually works out and stops, but the dome light was the most annoying part. I finally just pulled the lamp in the dome light. My mechanic says its the switch in the door and that will cost me a few hundred to open the door and replace it. Any experience with this bs ?

Other than that the truck is great, hauls great and is a pleasure to drive.

your door switch might be dirty and "sticking" spray some WD40 on it.

fn250 is right this is a comon problem just use anything like wd40 and spray right in the door latch and not just a little. work the door a few times and do it again. Should fix the problem

I will give it a try... I should have tried it, but the bells and whistles was just too weird. I will let ya know.

The WD-40 will work. At least it did for two of my trucks. Apply generously to the door latch.

Thanks, I applied the wd-40 and today put the lamp back in. It seems to be working correctly. Sure is better than tearing the whole door apart heh?
