Ok heres the deal, My garage door is not hooked up. It hasnet been hooked up secne I got the house. Well Im finally getting around to it. The problem is the wires and springs for the door have no directions so I have no clue how it should go. I was wondering if any of you would have the time to take a couple pics of your pulley and spring hook ups on your garage doors so i could see if any look like mine should. (make sence?) Im too cheap to have someone fix something I know I can do. I appreciate any help on this.
Why don't you go look at your neighbor's garage door and use it as a model? There's really no risk working on the doors yourself because you don't work with tension on the springs. Install the springs with the garage door up. I installed 2 replacement garage doors in a fomer home of mine no problem.
If you do install yhe long springs yourself, don't foget to put a "safety" cable through them. This will keep the springs from flying around in case of breakage.
when you are balancing the springs they should hold the garage door stable with it half way up(so the moter does equal work going down and up)
yea and be careful, ripped the skin off my thumb working on my sisters
