Help...another computer question.

I got on FTE ok but when I try to open a 2nd browser window to another site, my old dial up screen comes up. I am on cable and have the phone line disconnected. Under control panel and network properties it shows the dial up as disconnected and firewalled. What do I need to do to stop the dial up attempt? I am using firefox, thanks.

Try going to the control panel then network and dial-up connections and delete that dial up profile.

Mike what browser are you using? If Internet Exploder then under tools/internet options/connections make sure you have never dial a connection selected. If you're using something else I have no idea. Hope this helps a wee bit

From Control Panel, Internet Options, select the Connections tab, then select Never Dial option.....

I am using firefox. I started getting this a couple of days ago but it wanted to connect to go to .....tenmagazine.com? I will be back shortly, am checking something with spybot.

Firefox or not, try deleting that dial up profile from the control panel bro. That is a windows function

Delete or disable the dial up profile.

Use TABS to open another site. Right click on the tab bar and select "new tab".
