cool vans anyone?

hey guys, ive been an aero owner for a little over a year now and ive put my 91 shorty through hell and worse. now im somewhat restoring it back to better shape. it originally was the base model, no options version. it had a plain radio and only the drivers seat would move foreward and back. really plain and boring. but since i saw a couple cool vans online i was inspired. especially after i did my first burnout in it. oh yeah, and when i did my first drift, HAHA. so far my mods include, fabricating the original seat brackets to meet 2 90 mitsu eclipse seats for the front. new carpet. aiwa cd deck, 150W amp pushing 2 6" tube subs. the van is oxford white and the bumpers are a dark blue color. so i painted the bumpers and front grill to match (looks excellent for spray paint). my next project is a custom fiberglass interior like you see at most car shows. then its going to be dropped 2" in front. im going 18 or 19" rims in rear and 16 or 17" in front. american racing rims. if i want to get more extreme ill shave all the handles, hoodscoop, 302 swap and im sure i could figure a way to get 4 12" subs into it. anyone have any ideas or suggestions? also who else has a true custom van? seat covers, floormats, steering wheel covers...cheesy rice junk doesnt count. hope this can inspire some of you to have a wild kickass aero.

anyone see scooby doo 2? that van is so badass. im going for that style but definatly not the paint scheme. i want the rims and wide body style from that van, and the stingray style exhaust like on that van from old school. i decided im going to make a bench go from where the rear seat is and wrap it around to the drivers side window up to the back of the drivers seat. its gonna be pimp! lots of work though. let me know what kind of custom jobs youve all done. im just interested if theres anyone as crazy as me.

I going to move the Engine to the middle of the Van and remove the center seat. The front will for storage like a Wagon. The biggest problem I found is getting the AWD back to the front.

while your at it you could drop in a 302 in the rear and forget about the transfer case. ridin wheelies in an aero would be awesome!

I seen a fullsize that had a Hemi in it. It would go through tires like crazy. I have to say it was a well thought out conversion. It was well cooled and had super electric fans, Extra size Radiator, Engine was well mounted and did not vibrate and was air tight and quiet.

Some of then have the same mods I've done...there's not a lot out there for these vans. I just ordered some bronze tint for the windows...after that I'm about done with the interior/exterior mods. Time to start on the engine

Here is my 94 extended. I use it mostly for Sound Quality comps . You can't tell in the picks but the paint is shot with tons of blue pearl in it. Got a little engine work, mostly sound system though, she does hit 140.1 on a 3 year old system. Enjoy!

nice work. ill be taking pictures of mine soon. nothing special but atleast i dont get laughed at any more. today i experimented with painting my pass. side door panel. i have the old syle interior, and power nothing. the interior is that blue color. i got some black vynl paint for the most of the door. and the peices that are usually black, i painted silver. doesnt look too bad, i might go over it with another coat but i somewhat like it. ill post pics soon.

I had some mods but removed them. I had removed my clutch fan and replaced it with an electric fan. That gave me a noticable gain particularly in hot weather as Had no power loss due to the clutch fan locking up. I removed it though because it just was not enough air flow in hot weather( I live in Vegas). When I went back to the clutch fan I added a 2 core radiator for a 94 explorer 4.0 ( Autozone $189.00) I had to modify my my fan shroud to clear the AC unit. I had also removed my lower portion of the air box cliped on the filter to the top part and spun it to face forward. This picked up some power but sucked in too much hot air in the summer and made it ping bad. I think if you mounted a conical K&N filter in the pasenger fendercut a hole in the fenderto connect it to the MAF and made a larger tube from the MAF to the throttle bodie it would help a lot. Also our exhaust stinks from the exhast manifolds to the catilitic converter.
