Unhappy continued bucket seat issues.....

I have found 2 bucket seats for my 96 aero at a junkyard - I believe the seats came from a 94 aero. Now, that they have been all shined up, bases repainted and fabric clean (and rip repaired ) I'm just about ready to put them in the van - but wait, the passenger side seat belt doesn't have an anchor. As mentioned in other posts, Ford did change the setup a couple of times.
Does anyone know where I can find the correct part number for the "detachable anchor" for the bucket seats, and/or where I can get the anchor itself. It appears to mirror the drivers side bucket.

I'm back to the junkyard on Friday to see if the other Aero iwth the Eddie Bauer buckets has the right anchor.

Now that is interesting. I have an 94 Eddie Bauer and a 96. Both have rear buckets. So I just went out to the driveway and took a look.

They are the same. Both have the female part of the buckle mounted to the side of the base. On the inside/left. The shoulder belt comes from the outside over the lap and fastens to the receiver end. The receiver goes down to the base and bolts to the seat base. It's same on both.

My old 91 was different. Ther was only a lap belt. I don't have it anymore so I can't check it out. I believe both halves of the belt fastened to the seat base.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.

The left, or driver's side seat has both - the receiver and the anchor. but the right seat has only the receiver - no anchor.

On my 96, the bench seats both have the anchors integral with the seat - and I looked, but i don't think I can easily take the anchor off the bench seat and jury-rig it for the bucket. I need something more official and safe. I have been looking online for the past hour or so, doing google searches for "Ford seat belt kits" and "detachable seat belt anchor kit". no luck yet.
any tips would be great!

I think I'm starting to understand better what you have.

On the rear (far back) bench on mine, the sholder belt comes from the side of the van up through a ring (sort of) and comes back down and fastens on the side of the bench. Is this the receiver you are talking about?

The male part of the belt slides up and down on this. You pull the belt over your lap and fasten it into the female part of the belt that is attached to the seat itself.

On both my 94 and 96, it is a little different. The sholder belt does not attach to the bucket seat. It fastens to the floor (I think). I'm at work now and can't see it.

When I remove my bench seat I have to disconnect the sholder belts from the bench. Not so with the passenger side bucket. It's been awhile since I removed the other one to say for sure. I think it attaches to the side of the bucket seat just like the bench seat, but don't hold me to it.

If you go back to the junk yard, look at the passenger side sholder belt and see where it fastens near the floor of the van. That should give you the answer.

I took a look at my seatbelt this morning. It go up through the ring I mentioned. Then it goes down into the step area near the door and fastens there. It does not connect directly to the seat or seat base.

If you go to this link for an Aerostar on E-bay, you can almost see in one of the pictures where the seatbelt connects. This is on a 95. I hope this helps.

I see what you mean. Our shoulder belts do go through the D-ring and currently anchor on the bench seat. We are going back to the junk yard tomorrow to see what we can obtain from one of the other vehicles. Either the necessary piece to anchor to the floor, or perhaps jury rig an anchor from another bench seat. It is so frustrating! I with I had the part number from the anchor that attaches to the frame from the left seat, I would just order another and be done.
