What do these motor numbers mean?

*Flatheads are stamped with a number....not the engine number but the cylinder type. Three different types of cylinders were used with the stamps on the engine being: 1HA-6050, 0HA-6050 and my engine 7HA-6050. This stamped number should not be confused with the engine type which is located in the VIN.
That came from www.48f-1.com I don't know exactly what that means though as far as how to tell exactly what type of cylinders each engine has.

The '6050' part of the number means it is a head, the '7HA' part designates the year/model the part is for. The 3 letters are also used to tell the differences in combustion chamber sizes. For example, a V8 Flathead, the right side heads have a number XXX-6049-A. A '52 truck engine will have the number 8RT-6049-A, another year/model would have 8BA-6049-A. ...Terry
