4X4 conversion
I have an opportunity to get a complete drivetrain from an 86 F150 4X4 for nothing. I would like to convert my '89 E150 van to a 4 wheel drive. What, if anything, can I use off the F150. The engine is a 6 banger, the tranny is a 4 speed. Can the transfer case, axles, etc. be used on the conversion? My van has a 302 with the AOD transmission. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There is a tech article (link on right) regarding these swaps. It's a simple procedure, do a search w/ our site's search function under 4x4 to 4x2 conversion, 4wd conversion, 4x4 conversion, etc etc..and you'll find pleanty of info on it. It's a topic that is discussed often.
