Hello everyone I have a 2004 f350 crew cab srw and, I have 25,000 on it right now. I’ve got the 4inch Hog exhaust from the turbo back, afe air intake on it, and the edge. The other day I put the truck in reverse and it didn’t go for about 3 seconds then finally went, same for drive. I was on my way home and stopped at a light went to go and the truck was out of drive, then finally went back in. So took it to the dealer and the service manager told me that they would look at it next week when it comes in for the oil leak. Took it in last week for the oil leak and they could not see where the oil leak was coming from so they put a die in the oil. Will keep you all posted.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
My 03 F250 CC has frequently taken a moment to go in reverse gear. The vehicle has 33,092 miles. It currently is at the dealer for a (small) transmission leak and rough 2-1 downshift when in tow/haul mode. I will post the results. I must state for the record: This vehicle is fantastic! Also, The FTE site is a great forum!

I had the same problem, only with no leak. The fix is easy, its a faulty solinoid (sp) and Ford seams to know about this on certain 04/04 trucks. Good luck
Harsh or Delayed Forward or Reverse Engagement:
This could be caused by a sticking line pressure control (PC-A) solenoid. Typically the line pressure will be fluctuatiing wildly (up to 500 PSI!). To service, replace the line pressure control solenoid with P/N 4C3Z-7G383-AA. Broadcast Message 1586
This repair will require removing the solenoid harness, so a new harness sealing o-ring (P/N 3C3Z-7Z276-AA) will need to be installed. In some cases the solenoid body will need to be removed from the trans to remove the harness and solenoid. In this case the solenoid body gasket (basic P/N 7C155, trans tag number needed) will be needed as well. Note: Do not loosen the 10mm head bolts on the solenoid body. Only loosen the 8mm head bolts.
Cool, I thought the rough reverse engangment was just a Ford thing I will take it in and tell them of the service bulletin. I have 20,000 miles on my 03.
