SPOUT Connector???????

Guys what the heck is a sout connector. I want to adjust me timming and it says to desconnect the SPOUT connector first. WHAT is it and where is it. thanks Ryan

Post more specifics such as what year what engine etc. Mine is a 95 f150 inline six and is on the inside fender well next to ignition conrol module. Yours may be close to the distributor.

Look for the wiring harness coming out from your distributer,,, it will be a small relay thats sticking out from the wiring. it is stand alone and not plugged into anything looks like it is capped off. Pull that cap out .then adjust your timing and then reset your cpu .

well thats where it is on a 1990 5.0

ok found the littler wire from the dist. and the end of it, now it is not capped off. is this a problem. will it hurt anything to be uncapped

The spout connector "looks" like a cap. You have to remove it to keep the engine from advancing the timing while setting the dizzy. If yours is missing, it will cause idle and driveability concerns

has anyone ever heard of the SPOUT connector located near the driver fender next to the brake booster

I think it is located there with the 6 banger . all the spout is is a small 2 prong plug with a plastic cap plugged into it
