The spout connector (to the timing system) on a 1996, is on the main wiring harness , in the center of the truck that runs along the fire wall (near the hood seal). Theres a grey connector "plug". this is your spout connector . It's only about 1/2" X 1/2" x 3/8 thick and usually Grey in color.

Thank you much for your answering my post and it's the same for my 90.
While I was waiting for a response I got the idea to look through my Hayes electrical schematics and it connects directally between the DIS Module and the EEC Module.
After tracing out the wires w/ a VOM and found no faults & the gray "plug" itself shows infinate continuity when I tested it.
I then realized that when I unhooked my EECM/PCM for inspection these wires must not have all reconnected themselves properly as noted by my previous post, the one that you answered.
And I also have the battery disconnected as I compose this post to reset the codes.
