I have a Econoline E250 with a 6 cyl. There is a plug hanging from the harness near the distributor and I was told that the spout connector is missing from it. When I searched Google for spout connector, it showed an inline connector instead, so I'm not sure which is the spout connector. If the plug hanging from the distributor (2 yellow wires) is not where the spout connector goes, that what is that piece called?
That's the site showing the a different type of connector, which I also see but it's further away from the distributor. Which is the real spout connector?
The on-line manuals at autozone.com will show you where it is. I have always seen it as a connector body with the wires going into it facing the pins of the plug. You can hook up a timing light to your engine and if it is about 10 degrees and doesn't change, then you might have it missing on you. If the timing DOES change, then it is there.
fwiw, the spout connector on my 94 F150 is over on the fender under the braker booster.
I think of it as more of a u shapped connector as all it is, is a removable link between the two contacts. I guess on a schmematic it could be displayed as an inline connector.
