The biggest pain is removing the rad, the repair is not bad to do at all. You can pick up a couple rubber pipe caps at home depot to cap off the rad outlets the if you have access to a pressure tester you can pressurize the rad before you put it in to test your repair. I prob still have the stuff in the garage somewhere so if ya need a hand over the weekend I could give ya a hand if needed.
For now you could always go the bars leak or silver sealer route if the leak is not bad, I have had good luck with both products for temp repairs.
The rad in my truck came from LMC about 2 1/2 years ago so I am not impressed with their quality at all. Guess you get what you pay for thats why I am going with the Modine rad. For about 50 bucks more Ill have a rad that will last and its larger than the stock unit. A few other guys I know with our trucks have had real good luck with it. To me its worth the extra $ for piece of mind and not having to worry about overheating a $3500 motor.sorry for the long post.
Rick
Well, Thanks to 79 trailer special my bronco is back up and running. Soldered the radiator for a temp fix. Found another leak while at it in the Trans cooler line. fixed that. Also found out that my bronco is suppoed to be the exact same as 79TS's bronco. Including the color.
Hi Jeff,
Things still holding? Cheapest I have found is about 260 with a life time warr. That is a 4 row not a 3 so the price dont seem to bad. Im prob gonna order it next week.
Take care, Rick
