I've located 3 427's that were used to power irrigation pumps in the tobacco fields. They are complete and retired from service when the farm went deisel. My question is , what is the value of industrial 427's in rebuildable condition. They have standard bores and one of the three still runs well.
Naa, those aren't worth anything. But just to be nice, I'll give ya $50 for all of 'em.
JK. But if you want to really know what they're worth, do a search for Ford 427 on Ebay, and wait until they come up with an actual block. I think you have a goldmine in your hands.
Wow did you walk into a gold mine! You can sell them. Check ebay and see how much they are going for there. Most of them are .030 over too! If I were you I would keep at least one of them to build up if you are into that kind of stuff.
I did some research..and there 2 bolt mains.. and there not supposed to be bossed for cross bolt drill and tapping.. But hell if he can get them at a good price..
There has been a lot of debate as to whether or not industrial 427s had cross bolted mains and I beleive the conclusion that was made is that all 427s had cross bolted mains. Chime in here anytime guys!
I would not be afraid to lay down 600HP with a 2 bolt 427 if there was such a thing though.
Any FE can have cross bolted main caps installed. I think proform or somebody makes them brand new too!
