Your good hang around there is no doubt we can find a job for you.
Make sure you crack open the filter on top of the engine before draining. if not the filter holder on top of the engine creates a vaccume and will hold one extra quart.
You must remember that the people who couldn't vote correctly ( at least in Florida) are all retired Yankees. And I'm not sure they should be allowed to vote anyway. If they are too dumb to only check one name, we think their vote probably shouldn't count.
From the "for what it's worth" department. Fumoto Oil Drain Valves are an easy way to drain your oil. You basically replace the oil plug with this drain valve. The valve locks in the shut position, but is a quarter turn (to open). If you offroad a lot I'd suggest you get the drain valve with the nipple. That'll allow you to put a rubber hose onto the nipple to drain the oil past your oil pan skid plate. I'd also suggest that you use a skid plate to protect the valve since it hangs down more than the stock plug.
For anyone that's interested, here's the link: http://www.fumotovalve.com/
you'll need the F-111 or the F-111N (N if you want the nipple)
SBV45, no, I don't have a skidplate. I'm sure that Skyjacker, Superlift, Pro Comp (and other lift kit companies) make a skid plate that's appropriate. Try giving one of those a try.
Changed my oil at 1600 mi. first time with 15qts.. Received stumled idle and some smoke. removed two quarts resolved problem and remained in middle of dipstick. after 6800 mi. changed again and put in 14 qts., no problems and register middle of dipstick.
Not sure if stumble from first oil change was due to tight engine and early oil change.

Oil Level Check Tip:
When checking the oil level on the 6.0, the vehicle must be on a level surface and the dipstick must be fully seated into the tube to ensure an accuarte reading. Do not add oil if the level is above the "MIN" line on the dipstick. Broadcast Message 1512, 1574.
The high pressure oil system (pump and rails) can hold a quart and a half. So I have been putting in 13.5 and it is happy.
Here is my experience. First, when I drain my oil I've noticed that it takes a long time for it to completely drain. I'm talking 20 minutes+ while the oil dribbles out. When it completely stops draining, 14 qts will take mine to full.
My truck tends to check "over-full" when I check it cold. That is unusual since oil expands when hot. My belief is that the filter housing will slowly drain back into the pan. Maybe it's the high pressure oil rail? Anyway, to get a proper reading I start my truck and let it run a bit then shut it off and check the oil.
