Am I the only only person with a 2 piece dipstick ?
It appears they ran out of one roll of material and instead of throwing a 20" piece away, they spliced it to another piece [to save money] Seems odd.
Also a first for me. I assume it is the correct length even though after doing a 7 qt. oil change, the oil level is above the crosshatch mark up to the top hole.

 

They are all 2 piece. As for where it shows on the dipstick,as long as you only put 7 quarts in you are okay. Mine reads in about the middle when I change mine.

 

We discussed this on another thread. It seems Ford kept the top portion of the stick the same between the different engine sizes and riveted a different lenght bottom piece for the different engine sizes. Probably was cheaper than MFG a new dipstick for each engine. Can't confirm...

 

Yes all 2 piece { 27 3/8 " } from tip end too center of finger pull .

Go figure ??
