i have a predator on my 6.0, the motor overheated twice pulling heavy up a steep grade in towing mode. in factory tune or factory hp tune the motor does not overheat. both times it overheated, the egt gauge was at 950 post turbo. the motor got hot enough to turn on the check gauges light and blew antifreeze out the cap. i called diablo sport, they said they were aware of the problem and they were going to have an update available in a couple of weeks for the problem. i wonder if water injection would help??
Wow now thats hot!
With 950F post turbo egt you could be seeing 1250-1450F at the pre-turbo side. I would suggest two things. Ease up on the throttle climbing the hills. I wouldn't want to see post egt above 750-800F personally (IMHO) since post turbo readings can be 300-500F below pre-turbo. Second i would have your turbo checked for heat damage.
Welcome to FTE Lots of good info and people around here

How steep of grade were you on?
How long was the pull

Tim,
Look up a few posts
BTW it is not a constant conversion. The temperature difference between Pre & Post Turbo is not linear. Many factors (ie.. outside air temp, RPM's, boost, Load, amount of fuel) all effect the temperature change from pre to post turbo.

And the placement of the thermocouple...where it actually is
When I bought the predator and read the instructions it said to consider grades. I took that to mean take it easy going up hills when towing a lot of weight.13000#'s is a lot of weight.
